Outside our small safe place flies Mystery... A snake beneath the forest floor, a whisper: Melusine
My take on the Oscars this year
I was really hoping that "Brokeback Mountain" would win, but I totally can see why "CRASH" made it as best picture. I watched the award show like I normally do every year, yet this year I wasn't as excited about who won or lost. It was an okay show as far as the history of Oscar goes; nothing majorly exciting or boring, just an even keel of music and fandom. This year I wasn't really cheering for anyone like I did in the past. Overall I think Jon Stewart kept things lively, however a few of his jokes and skits seemed a bit "off" in the way someone trying too hard to tell a joke at a crowded party can be. But, now that I think about it, I'm really glad that a lot of indie movies and film shorts got more attention than usual. There are a lot of great films out there that don't get public recognition. About the worst thing watching the Academy Awards is wishing I was in the filmmaking industry. The best thing about watching the awards is checking out the gowns and jewelery. I never get tired of all the glamour!
