Finally got word from Paul tonight.  Seems like he has had a very, very busy life as of late so that's why he wasn't online.  He told me (and I quote him): "Dear sweet jeezuz no!! I'll never stop talking with good friends just cause I is in lurv!! :-) "  so now I feel much better.  He really is a great buddy and glad to know he's getting by just fine. 

In other news, I just sold some of my artwork to make some rent money.  I walked over to Mother's Approval Tattooing where my friends Jody and Chris work and they were eager to make a few deals with me on purchasing my work.  Of course while I was there they showed me off to their staff.  I felt a little embarassed about it because one of the artists there told me that after seeing my work he's "going home to destroy all his pencils and never attempt to draw ever again" because that's how good my talent is.  I then told him a story about how I first started drawing and how I was surrounded by lots of artist friends who drew for comic books.  I was very intimidated by those guys and thought I'd never amount to anything, but eventually you find your own way to express yourself and go to school to develop your skills.  If they all think I'm so good now, I take it as a compliment that the value I now see in myself is finally showing through my work.
