Doesn't that sound like the opening of a joke about Lost?  Even though this might be news to some Lost fans out there, considering that this happened as far back as the first weeks of last December, but, I've been hearing all sorts of rumors about what's going on behind-the-scenes after the drunk driving arrests.  Maybe there is some truth to the bullshit (or perhaps it's just my paranoia working over time) because we were hit with a rerun last Wednesday.  Basically, actresses Cynthia Watros (Libby) and Michelle Rodriguez (Ana-Lucia) were arrested for DUI within fifteen minutes of each other on the same road.  They were both weaving in and out of traffic along a bike trail.  Both had been spending the holiday season in Oahu where Lost is filmed.  Out of the pair, Watros is said to be faring much better, has publicly apologised for her mistake, paid her fine, and has no prior criminal record.  Rodriguez, on the other hand, was described as "argumentative and rude" at the time of her arrest and entered a not guilty plea at her arraignment. Here's a quote I pulled from a report from The Associated Press:

"I don't (expletive) belong here! Why don't you just put a gun to my head and shoot me! You've already taken my freedom! You might as well take my life too!" she said, KITV reported Friday. The officer who took Rodriguez in a police car to the Kailua substation quoted her as saying "Just take my car and I'll walk all the way to the North Shore but don't leave me in the back of this car poppie."

Her trial is scheduled on March 30th, but from several entertainment news reports I've uncovered, there's even talk about the series' creators killing off the character Ana-Lucia because the actress, Michelle Rodgriuez, who was already on probation in California for previous traffic violations, would have her probation revoked on Jan. 24.  Michelle is also proving to be very hard to get along with.  Here's the supposedly bullshit rumor I found that was first announced on MSN and has now since been pulled:

Lost star Michelle Rodriguez is getting killed off in the series because she is such a nightmare to work with, according to reports in the US. The sexy 27-year-old actress is a hit as Ana-Lucia Cortez onscreen but insiders say her diva-like behaviour is sending everyone around the bend. They are also angry after she brought scandal after getting arrested for allegedly drink driving close to the set in Hawaii. "The producers are fed up with the fact that she barely shows up on the set and is always in a bad mood," Us Weekly quoted an "insider" as saying. "They said she was getting killed off as soon as they could write it in."

 

Rodriguez's spokesperson would not discuss the star's fate in the show, but insisted the actress was dedicated to the job. "Michelle is very proud of her work," the spokesperson said. Rodriguez is next due in court next month on her drink-driving charge.

However, IT'S A RUMOR PEOPLE, J.J NEVER SAID THIS, AS DID NONE OF THE CREATORS.

Yet, still you have to wonder what's going down.  Maybe the recent airing and changed date for the next Lost episode was nothing but a fluke.  Still, sometimes it's interesting to see how different people handle things.  Rodriguez has been known to have a temper!
